Bonus chapter
Rotation Meals
Decision fatigue is the enemy of consistency. A small rotation of high-protein meals you actually love makes eating in a deficit almost automatic.
Instead of trying to eat something new every day, most successful fat loss journeys rotate through the same 15–25 meals week after week. It's not boring — it's freeing.
Why rotation works
You already know the macros. You already know what to buy. You already know it tastes good. Every meal decision becomes a 5-second choice, not a 30-minute rabbit hole.
Before you jump into the recipes
With these meals, you're not removing foods. You're changing:
- The protein
- The portions
- The ingredients
- The cooking methods
…without changing the experience. That's what sustainable fat loss looks like.
You might look through these recipes and think, "There's no way I can lose weight eating pancakes, pizza, pasta, burgers, tacos and fried rice."
I used to think the exact same thing. For years I believed losing weight meant giving up the foods I loved, eating tiny portions and constantly feeling hungry. That approach never lasted.
Every meal here was built around the same principles that helped me lose 35 pounds in 5 months.
What every meal is built around
- 30–58g of protein per serving
- Real, everyday grocery store ingredients
- Balanced carbohydrates
- Whole-food ingredients whenever possible
- Vegetables that add volume and nutrition
- Portions that are satisfying and realistic
A personal note on your numbers
Not everyone's journey looks the same. Adjust your portions — or cut a recipe in half if you need fewer calories to stay in your deficit. Need more? Double it.
The goal is to get you eating foods you actually enjoy so this becomes sustainable around your life and your numbers.
Myth: "carbs are the enemy"
Reality: carbohydrates don't cause weight gain. Weight gain happens when we consistently eat more calories than our body needs — not because we enjoyed rice, pasta, potatoes, fruit or pizza.
Carbs are your body's preferred energy source. The key is choosing quality carbs and pairing them with protein so meals actually keep you full.
Why pair protein with carbs?
Protein slows digestion, keeps you fuller longer and protects muscle while you're in a deficit. Pairing it with carbs steadies your energy and makes constant snacking a lot less likely.
That's why almost every meal here has 30+ grams of protein.
Pro tip: the sequencing hack
If you can, eat your vegetables and protein first, then your carbs. It may help steady blood sugar and keep you satisfied longer. Don't stress if you eat it all together — a balanced meal matters more than a perfect one.
Choose your carbs wisely
Fifty grams of carbs from sugary cereal can leave you hungry an hour later. The same carbs paired with protein and vegetables keep you going.
⭐ Great everyday choices
Oats, sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa, beans, berries, whole wheat pasta
Also great when balanced
Jasmine rice, white rice, regular pasta, white bread, flour tortillas
Enjoy less often
Sugary cereals, pastries, soda, candy, chips
The biggest mistake I made
I thought eating as little as possible would get me there faster. It left me hungry, low on energy, constantly thinking about food and unable to stay consistent.
The goal isn't to eat as little as possible. It's to eat enough to fuel your body while still holding a deficit you can actually maintain.
❤ My promise to you
These meals were built to keep you full longer, hit your protein, let you enjoy the foods you love and stay consistent without feeling deprived.
I still ate pizza. Pasta. Tacos. Burgers. I just built them differently: more protein, more whole foods, smarter portions.
A quick note before we get started
These aren't the only meals I eat. There are plenty of simple nights too — grilled chicken and broccoli, steak with a baked potato and salad, leftovers from the night before. But these are the ones that made the biggest difference.
Anyone can eat grilled chicken and vegetables for a week. The challenge is finding meals you genuinely look forward to month after month.
